HOMEMADE CHERRY LIQUEUR Ingredients: 3 cups cherries 3 cups 80-proof brandy (or vodka) 1 cup sugar 3 cups water
Method: 1. Boil water and sugar 30 minutes, allow to cool. Pour in clean glass jar. 2. Pierce cherries with a fork and put in glass jar along with 2 cups brandy. Be sure fruit is covered. Leave for 1 month. 3. Strain or filter well with cheese cloth or cloth filter. 4. Add additional cup of brandy, according to preference . Stir well. Store in sealed container. . VARIATIONS: Additives, cloves, cinnamon, mace.
NOTE: Even an, almost, undetectable hint of scent can ruin the liqueur flavor. Wash containers EXTREMELY WELL and dry completely. |
